Secrets to having a HEALTHY winter!

School has started and leaves are beginning to fall. Sweaters, hot apple cider and smells of pumpkin. I LOVE this time of year, it brings some of my most favorite things. For a lot of people it also brings some of their most "not-favorite" things; colds, flu, time off work, snotty noses, sleep deprivation, cranky kids, cranky parents, co-pays, long waits at the doctor, antibiotics, raw noses, aches pains and fevers..... and on and on.

FOOD -  This plays a bigger role than people think in how well the avoid or attract sickness. During this time of year there are lots of goodies, and we all know what happens at Halloween...... This is what you can do at home, so that when it's party time you can indulge a little bit...
  • Reduce if not completely eliminate dairy products.They are mucus forming and attract germs like crazy!!
  • Reduce or eliminate refined sugars and flour foods. Instead, eat lots of yummy soups ( bean, homemade chicken noodle, stew...) squashes, potatoes and veggies!
  • Sell the Halloween Candy - There are Dentists that pay GOOD money for it!
